CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina closes out the 2016 regular season at the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) championships at Pittsburgh on Saturday. The Tar Heels last won the EAGL in 2011 and will be vying for their fifth title since 2005.
Carolina enters the meet with some momentum after posting a season-high 193.725 at No. 2 Florida. Sophomore standout Morgan Lane had her third-consecutive season-high all-around score with a 39.350 in Gainesville. She has posted a 39.0-or-higher in every meet this season and each of the last three weeks her score has increased.
"Morgan is having a terrific year and she could have another great meet this week," says head coach Derek Galvin, now in his 35th season.
