CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina was one of six athletic programs to finish in the top 10 in both the men's and women's standings in the 2016-17 Capital One Cup, which measures top 10-finishes in NCAA Championship play and coaches' polls in 20 men's and 21 women's sports.
The Tar Heels finished third in the men's standings and ninth in the women's this year. UNC, Florida, Maryland, Oklahoma, Oregon and Stanford were the six schools that finished in the top 10 in both competitions.
UNC now has a combined 10 finishes in the top 10 in Capital One Cup history.
