CLEMSON, S.C. – North Carolina finished eighth overall Sunday at the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Rowing Championship, hosted by Clemson on Lake Hartwell. Tar Heel sophomore Kelly Williams was named to the All-ACC second team, announced following the event.
Virginia won the conference title, its eighth in a row and 17th in the 18-year history of the championship.
Coming into the final event just five points ahead of surging Syracuse, the UVA First Varsity Eight put on its best performance of the year with a time of 6:19.734 to capture the event by one and a half seconds over Notre Dame and four seconds over Syracuse.
