RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior Daniel McArthur fell an inch short of the Atlantic Coast Conference men's shot put championship but still set a school record on Friday in Day 2 action at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
McArthur's throw of 19.73 (64-8 ¾) was an outdoor PR for him. Virginia Tech's Tyson Jones threw a 64-9 ¾ , also a personal best. In fact, the top five finishers and eight off 17 overall set new personal best, including Madias Loper, seventh with a throw of 17.65m.
The men's shot put was the second final of the day, and also UNC's second medal.
