CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – North Carolina fell Sunday in an Atlantic Coast Conference men’s tennis battle, 4-3 at No. 4 Virginia. The Tar Heels won the doubles point and earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots, but the Cavaliers claimed courts three through six to improve to 20-1 overall and 7-1 in ACC play. UNC, ranked No. 11, is now 19-3 overall, 6-2 ACC).
The Tar Heels opened strong with doubles wins on Courts 1 and 2 to earn the opening point. On Court 2, senior Jack Murray and freshman Simon Soendergaard set the tone with a 6-4 win.
