SPARKS, MD. – Twelve different Tar Heel players scored goals Sunday afternoon as the 15th-ranked University of North Carolina men's lacrosse team defeated Cleveland State 15-9 before a crowd of 750 fans at William G. Tierney Field at the U.S. Lacrosse Complex in Sparks, Md.
Coach Joe Breschi's Tar Heels won their third game in a row to improve to 6-2 on the season while Cleveland State fell to 4-5 with the loss.
The game was tied at 4-4 midway through the second quarter before the Tar Heels scored four goals in a span of 3:51 to give Carolina an 8-4 lead heading into intermission.
