When Tar Heel teams travel, there’s much more to the trip than the competition. Sometimes it’s team bonding on the bus or seeing a new campus, and sometimes it’s an impactful experience that the student-athletes will remember for years to come, such as the one the North Carolina rowing team had during a recent road trip.
While en route to compete at the Occoquan Chase in Occoquan, Va., on Oct. 11, the Tar Heels took a detour to Triangle, Va., to visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps, located near Marine Corps Base Quantico in Northern Virginia.
