BOCA RATON, FLA. – Tar Heel freshman striker Zoe Redei scored the first golden goal of her career in the 103rd minute of play to lift the ninth-ranked University of North Carolina women’s soccer team to a wild 3-2 victory over Florida Atlantic University Sunday afternoon at FAU Soccer Stadium.
With the game tied at 1-1 and 2:01 to play in regulation time, the match was delayed by weather for approximately 40 minutes. UNC’s Bridgette Andrzejewski scored her second goal of the game less than a minute after play resumed only to see FAU tie the match 33 seconds later and force overtime.
