CHAPEL HILL—Theo Pinson posted his second career double-double as 15th-ranked North Carolina downed Georgia Tech, 80-66, on Saturday afternoon in the Smith Center.
With the win, Carolina improved to 16-4 overall this season, 5-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Tar Heels have won four games in a row. Georgia Tech fell to 10-9, 3-3.
Pinson finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds (to tie his career high) and four assists, posting a third consecutive double-figure scoring game for the first time in his career. Luke Maye had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Tar Heels, who also got 16 points apiece from Cameron Johnson and Joel Berry II.
