NEW ORLEANS—North Carolina hit nine first-half three-pointers and defeated Ohio State, 86-72, in the CBS Sports Classic at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Tar Heels hit 9 of 16 first-half three-point attempts and closed the half on a 24-7 run to take a 14-point lead, 41-27, at the break. Jalek Felton hit three first-half three-pointers, while Joel Berry II and Cameron Johnson each had two. Carolina also had 11 assists on its 14 first-half baskets while holding the Buckeyes to .385 shooting and forcing nine turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
