Tar Heels Dominate Syracuse, 21-12

DURHAM, N.C.—Second-seeded North Carolina (13-3) got seven points each from Ela Hazar and Katie Hoeg and six goals from Jamie Ortega in a 21-12 win over seventh-seeded Syracuse (9-9) on Thursday at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University.

The Tar Heels advance to Friday's semifinal round to face the winner of Thursday night's contest between third-seeded Virginia Tech and sixth-seeded Duke.

Hazar had three goals and four assists, and Hoeg had two goals and a career-high five assists. Ortega scored six goals, one off her season high of seven set against Duke last weekend, and Kara Klages tied her career high with five goals.
