NOTRE DAME, IND.—Top-seeded North Carolina dominated possession and eased by eighth-seeded Pitt, 15-6, on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinal at Arlotta Stadium.
Carolina outshot the Panthers, 42-10, won 17 of 25 draw controls and had a season-high 12 caused turnovers as a team. Six Tar Heels scored goals, and eight of UNC's goals were assisted.
Scottie Rose Growney tied her season high with five goals for the second game in a row, recording her third career game with five-plus scores. Sam Geiersbach came off the bench to tally four goals and an assist, and Jamie Ortega had three goals and an assist.
