CHAPEL HILL—Top-ranked North Carolina got seven points from Katie Hoeg and five from Jamie Ortega on its way to a 14-7 win over No. 6 Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon at rainy Dorrance Stadium.
Hoeg tallied two goals and five assists and Ortega scored three times with two assists to lead the way for the Tar Heels. Tayler Warehime was explosive with four goals, including three in the first half, on six total shots. Scottie Rose Growney added two goals and two assists.
The attacker quartet of Hoeg, Ortega, Growney and Warehmine combined for 11 goals, 9 assists and 20 total points on the day.
