Junior Carter Jenkins closed with a 5-under-par 67 and the University of North Carolina equalled the best third round score at the 2016 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Golf Championship Sunday at the Old North State Club.
Carolina finished in a tie for eighth after shooting 282 in the third and final round, which tied champion Clemson for the low round of the day. UNC’s 282 was 11 shots better than its second round score and 13 better than its opening 18 holes. The Tar Heels finished the event at 6-over 870. Clemson won the ACC title with a 25-under 839, 11 shots ahead of runner-up Wake Forest.
