DURHAM, N.C. – Led by Chris Cloutier's Most Valuable Player performance, the #18 North Carolina Tar Heels defeated #6 Notre Dame 14-10 Saturday in the ACC Championship game at Koskinen Stadium.
With the win, the Tar Heels become NCAA Tournament selection eligible at 8-7, winning their first ACC championship since 2013. Notre Dame falls to 8-4 on the season.
Luke Goldstock had a four goal effort for the Tar Heels and joined Cloutier on the All-ACC Tournament Team. Cloutier had three goals and two assists in the championship game. Defenseman Jack Lambert and attackman Andy Matthews were also on the All-Tournament Team.
