DURHAM, N.C. - No. 3 North Carolina and No. 11 Duke battled to a scoreless tie in women's soccer action Thursday night before a crowd of 3,176 fans at Koskinen Stadium.
The Tar Heels outshot the Blue Devils 18-6 in the match but they were unable to get a shot in the back of the net past Duke goalkeeper Brooke Heinsohn who made eight saves in the match.
With the tie, Carolina is now 11-1-1 on the season and 4-0-1 in the ACC. Duke is now 6-1-5 overall and 1-0-4 in the ACC. It shaped up and ended up as a battle of two of the nation's best defenses.
