SYRACUSE, N.Y.—Third-ranked North Carolina went on a 5-0 run in the second half to seize control of the action and won a big road game at No. 4 Syracuse, 12-11, on Saturday afternoon in the Carrier Dome. The Tar Heels have won nine games in a row.
Ela Hazar led the way offensively with two goals and four assists for a career-high six points for Carolina. Senior goalie Megan Ward made seven saves after entering the game to start the second half, holding Syracuse to three second-half goals. Sammy Jo Tracy helped seal the win with a big caused turnover with 19 seconds remaining, adding three goals and an assist.
