ATHENS, Ga. – The North Carolina men's tennis team earned another game in its season and another program first Monday, beating No. 12 Georgia 4-3 on the Bulldogs' home court to advance to the NCAA title match, set for Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Monday's semifinals match, which included a four-hour rain delay and started outdoors at Dan Magill Tennis Center but finished inside, came down to Court 6, where UNC sophomore Blaine Boyden fought to a 6-3 third-set win over Georgia's Robert Loeb to seal the victory for the Tar Heels.
“I'm just so proud of my guys,” said UNC coach Sam Paul, who is in his 24th year with the program.
