The North Carolina Tar Heels are back to No. 1 — well, sorta.
While the Tar Heels aren’t No. 1 in the AP Top 25, as of yet, they returned to the top of Sports Illustrated’s college basketball power rankings. The Tar Heels wins over North Carolina State and Wake Forest shot them right up to the top spot after they were No. 4 in last weeks rankings.
The rankings had a shakeup due to losses by No. 2 Oklahoma at Iowa State and former No. 1 Kansas losing three-straight games. Here’s what SI had to say about the Tar Heels who are surging with a 6-0 record in ACC play:
