DURHAM, N.C. – The University of North Carolina women’s track and field team traveled the eight miles to Duke University to compete at the second annual Battle of the Blues against the Blue Devils and Michigan. The Tar Heels finished in third place with a total of 59 points, the same position as the women’s squad placed in the 2016 edition of the meet. The competition was extremely tight throughout the entire meet, but Duke (72 points) and Michigan (62 points) managed to pull away from UNC following dominance in a few late events.
“When I reflect on the meet this weekend, there were obviously some competitions where we did really well,” said UNC head coach Harlis Meaders.
