CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Each fall, North Carolina student-athletes gather for a special trip that always proves to be a highlight of the Carolina Outreach calendar. The annual Touchstone Energy UNC Burn Center Visit on Nov. 6 brought together student-athletes from the Carolina football, track and field, cross country and women’s lacrosse teams to visit with patients and hear from physicians at one of the state’s outstanding health care facilities.
Twenty-five student-athletes went from room to room visiting with patients, taking a few minutes out of their own days to try to brighten someone else’s. “Their spirits are awesome and it was so great to meet them, talk to the families,” said junior Katie Kinsey, a member of the women’s lacrosse team who was making the visit for the first time.
