In a long-standing Tar Heel tradition, members of the North Carolina football team kicked off the home game weekend Friday afternoon with a visit to UNC Children’s Hospital. This marks the 26th year in a row that Tar Heel players will spend time with young patients on the Friday afternoon before each home game.
"Going to the hospital every Friday with my teammates is just another great experience we get to have as student-athletes,” said UNC senior linebacker Jeff Schoettmer, a business major from Dallas, Texas. “It really puts things into perspective as we visit with struggling children who would give anything to be in our shoes.
