North Carolina's second and third varsity eights both reached the grand final and placed sixth overall to lead the Tar Heels Sunday at the Atlantic Coast Conference Rowing Championship, held at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, S.C.
UNC placed seventh overall. Kathryn Johnson, a senior from Thomasville, N.C., represented UNC on the All-ACC team, earning second-team honors.
"This was a great weekend to cap off a fantastic season," UNC coach Sarah Haney said. "We are so proud of this team and all that they accomplished this season. Our goal was for them to all have their best race of the year today and we feel like we accomplished that.
