GREENSBORO, N.C. – After two years of playing in the first game of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, the North Carolina women's basketball team has earned the right to take its time getting to Greensboro this year. After finishing the regular season 23-5 overall and 13-5 in ACC play, the Tar Heels are the No. 4 seed in the 2022 event and received a double bye into Friday's quarterfinals.
No. 18 UNC opens play Friday at 11 a.m. against the winner of Thursday's second round game between fifth-seeded Virginia Tech and either No. 12 Syracuse or No.
