South Carolina Downs Tar Heels in Duke's Mayo Bowl, 38-21

CHARLOTTE—South Carolina ran for 301 yards and defeated North Carolina, 38-21, in the Duke's Mayo Bowl on Thursday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium.

South Carolina compiled 543 yards of total offense and held the ball for nearly 40 minutes of the game.

The Gamecocks jumped out to an early, 18-0 lead behind two long touchdown passes to Jaheim Bell, one of 69 yards and one of 66, and a field goal.

The Tar Heels got onto the scoreboard on a 63-yard, second quarter touchdown run from British Brooks. USC led, 25-13, at halftime.
