CHAPEL HILL – The 2017 NCAA champion men's basketball team and the 2016 women's lacrosse national champions are two of 16 University of North Carolina athletic programs to score a perfect 1000 in the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rates for the academic year 2015-16. This is the third consecutive year the UNC men's basketball and women's lacrosse teams recorded a 1000.
Men's cross country, men's and women's fencing, field hockey, men's and women's golf, gymnastics, rowing, men's soccer, softball, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and volleyball also scored 1000 in 2015-16.
Men's basketball and women's lacrosse are also among the 19 Tar Heel programs whose multi-year APRs exceed the national averages for their respective sports (one other UNC sport equaled the national average and four are within three points of the national average).
