Six North Carolina field hockey players have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team, announced Friday by the league. Tar Heels named to the squad, which recognizes combined academic and athletic performance, were Marissa Creatore, Malin Evert, Morgan Goetz, Feline Guenther, Ashley Hoffman and Meredith Sholder.
Evert, Goetz and Hoffman were juniors on the 2017 roster, Creatore and Guenther sophomores and Sholder a freshmen. All started or were key contributors as the Tar Heels won the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, the 20th in program history, and reached the final four for the 22nd time overall and ninth year in a row.
