CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Behind two goals from junior Erin Matson and an eight-save day from senior Amanda Hendry, the North Carolina field hockey team opened the spring portion of its schedule Friday afternoon with a 2-0 win over Louisville at Karen Shelton Stadium.
Playing under sunny skies, the Tar Heels improved to 11-1 overall, tacking on another win their 10-1 record from the fall. Louisville fell to 8-3.
"It's fun to play somebody else," UNC coach Karen Shelton said. "It's been a long preseason, and I think our kids have prepared really well.
