CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – A goal from Evelyn Shores in the 67th minute was enough to lift No. 2 North Carolina women's soccer past Virginia Tech, 1-0, in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener on Friday at Dorrance field.
Following the win, the Tar Heels remain undefeated at 6-0-3 (1-0 ACC) on the year while the Hokies drop to 3-3-3 (0-1). Carolina also improves to 31-6 all-time in ACC openers, including 11-4 while starting conference play at home.
