CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina track and field teams hosted the Kent Taylor Invitational on Sunday in hopes of tuning up before the ACC Championship meet next week.
Sarah Howard earned a first-place finish after posting a season-best throw in the women’s shot put. Howard threw 55-1 ½ (16.80 meters) and ranks No. 13 in the NCAA this year.
Emily Godwin took first in the women’s long jump at 19-0 (5.79 meters). Godwin will compete in the women’s pentathlon at the ACC Championships.
