CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Top-ranked North Carolina got goals from six players – including a hat trick from senior – in an 8-0 field hockey win over William & Mary Sunday afternoon at Stadium. For the second game in a row, UNC (5-0) hit a season high in goals while shutting out its opponent.
The Tar Heels were coming off a 6-0 win over Penn last Sunday, but still even with that margin saw plenty of room for improvement. For one thing, they had not scored in the first quarter in any game this season. They made sure to change against the Tribe, with three first-quarter goals.
