Scott Competes For Ticket To Rio Sunday

North Carolina head wrestling coach Coleman Scott will attempt to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team this weekend at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. Scott, the 2012 freestyle bronze medalist at 61 kilograms, will compete for a spot at 57 kg (125.5 pounds) against the best wrestlers in the country.

Scott is the lone active NCAA head coach competing at this weekend's trials, and he is one of two former Olympians and six former NCAA champions in a loaded field at 57 kg. The weight marks a significant step for the 2008 NCAA champion at 133 pounds, who has not competed at this light a weight since early in his college career at Oklahoma State.
