CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Carolina junior Sam Meza was named to the 2022 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Players to Watch for midfielders, joining senior Maycee Bell who was tagged on the list of Players to Watch for defenders earlier this week.
Meza, a preseason All-ACC selection, was a second-team All-ACC and All-Atlantic Region performer last season, logging 972 minutes in 16 matches played. She tallied five points with two goals and an assist. She scored the game-winning goal against Arkansas to give Carolina a 1-0 win over the Razorbacks.
