CHAPEL HILL – University of North Carolina offensive lineman Spencer Rolland has been named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation announced on Wednesday. Celebrating its 34th year, the Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
Rolland, who was named a semifinalist for the same award as an undergraduate at Harvard, embodies the qualities the Football Foundation looks for in its Campbell Trophy honorees. He's already earned a mechanical engineering degree with a minor in astrophysics from Harvard and is now working on his MBA at UNC.
