Register, Do Under Par In Rd 1 At Tavistock

WINDERMERE, FLA. --- Sophomore William Register shot 2-under-par and junior Henry Do was 1-under-par to lead the University of North Carolina men’s golf team to a fifth-place finish after round one of the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational Sunday.

The three-round event will continue Monday and Tuesday at Isleworth Country Club.

The Tar Heels shot a combined 1-under-par 287 and stand fifth, eight strokes behind day one leader California (279). The Bears had three players shoot under par including the individual leader, Collin Morikawa, who fired a 5-under 67.

Register is tied for sixth with a 70, Do is tied for ninth with a 71, junior Carter Jenkins is tied for 17th with an even-par 72, freshman Joshua Martin is tied for 30th with a 74 and sophomore Ben Griffin is tied for 46th with a 75.
