Usually it’s not how you start but rather how you finish games that determine your fate in college basketball.
That old saying was true for No. 7 North Carolina on Saturday as they escaped an upset bid from Georgia Tech. The Tar Heels (13-2) remained perfect in the ACC as they moved to 2-0 in the early part of their conference season backed by Joel Berry’s career-high 19 points.
The first half was a struggle for the Tar Heels as the Yellow Jackets controlled the half, taking a 42-39 lead into halftime. It was just the second time all season the Tar Heels trailed at the half, with the only other time coming against Kansas State.
