UNC's Ryan Gerard shot a 1-over-par 73 despite rainy, windy conditions to stay within three shots of the lead Saturday after two rounds at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational.
Gerard birdied the 18th hole to get to 2 under for the tournament, in a tie for fifth place three shots behind the leader, Texas A&M's William Paysse.
Weather was the story of the day with steady rain and winds gusting to 23 mile per hour. No team and only seven of 78 players shot under par. Six teams, including UNC, shot under par in Friday's opening round.
