UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Two Tar Heels earned All-America honors Friday as the NCAA Fencing Championships continued and men's competition wrapped up.
Junior Beni Rabinowitz placed sixth overall in men's sabre to earn All-America second team honors and freshman Alec Muvaney was just behind in ninth for honorable mention.
Rabinowitz qualified for NCAA Championships for the third year in a row. As a freshman, he placed 13th, and he was set to go again in 2020 before the event was cancelled.
Mulvaney was competing at NCAAs for the first time.
In foil, junior James Mulligan placed 13th.
