KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 9, 2019) -- Mauricio Pineda was named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Division I Men's Soccer All-South Regional Team, the site announced Monday. The senior captain for the Tar Heels was named to the second-team, giving him back-to-back All-South Regional Team honors as he was a first-team member in 2018.
Pineda, a native of Bolingbrooke, Illinois, has been an anchor for the Tar Heel midfield for the last four years and is a Senior CLASS Award Finalist. The senior captain has played in every game during his last four years and has been named to an All-ACC team each season, including a first-team member in 2018 and 2019.
