CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its 2016 Division I, II and III Scholar All-Americans on Friday afternoon. The 2016 Tar Heel national championship team is represented on the team by senior midfielder Patrick Kelly of Timonium, Md.
Kelly was a post-season USILA honorable mention All-America on the field this past season. As a senior Kelly started all 18 games for Coach Joe Breschi's Tar Heels and was the squad's fourth leading scorer with 38 points. He scored 27 goals this year and had 11 assists. He had the game-winning goal in Carolina's 17-16 overtime win at Duke on April 1 and he tallied the game-tying goal that forced overtime in the Tar Heels' 14-13 national championship game victory over #1-ranked Maryland.
