University of North Carolina men’s basketball guard Marcus Paige underwent successful arthroscopic surgery today to remove bone spurs in his right ankle.
Paige is expected to resume basketball activities this summer.
The junior from Marion, Iowa, played in all 38 games this year, averaged a team-high 14.1 points and led UNC with 170 assists. He earned Carolina’s Most Valuable Player honors for the second consecutive year.
Dr. Robert Anderson performed the surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.Paige, who was named team MVP for a second straight season last week, struggled for most of the 2014-15 season with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
