ATHENS, Georgia (2010)
With a quartet of seniors set to lead a deep and talented lineup, Carolina was poised for greatness in 2009-10. But what the Tar Heels accomplished was perhaps even beyond their dreams of what the season could hold. When the campaign finally ended in late May in the national semifinals, Carolina had spent much of the spring ranked No. 1 in the country.
With the No. 2 overall seed came the honor of hosting the Chapel Hill Regional, and the Tar Heels used their home court advantage to defeat Richmond and UNLV and advance to the Sweet 16 in Athens, Georgia.
