When the North Carolina Tar Heels open up the college basketball season in November, they will do so as favorites to win the Atlantic Coast Conference. That is from media members point of view.
Media members in attendance at TheACC.com’s “Operation Basketball” voted the Tar Heels the preseason favorites to win the conference. That’s due in large part to the Tar Heels returning almost every player from a Sweet Sixteen team a year ago.
The Tar Heels received 60 of the 89 first place votes in the poll done on Wednesday. Virginia placed second in the poll as they are coming off an 2014 ACC Championship.
