CHAPEL HILL --- Ron Sherman's three-run homer was the big blow as Pittsburgh avoided its second straight sweep with a 5-0 win over No. 6 North Carolina Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Staduim. Carolina saw its 11-game winning streak snapped as Pitt's Josh Falk and Garrett Wrambel combined for a six-hit shutout. Adam Pate and Tyler Ramirez had two hits apiece for the Tar Heels, who open their first five-game week of the season Tuesday at East Carolina.
