DURHAM, N.C. --- No. 6 North Carolina continued its recent offensive surge Saturday as the Tar Heels routed Duke 12-2 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Tyler Ramirez had two hits and three RBIs, and Carolina topped 10 runs for the fourth consecutive game in securing its fifth straight series win to open the season.
Ramirez tripled home Adam Pate and Kyle Datres as part of a three-run first, and the Tar Heels (16-2, 4-1 ACC) piled on five more runs to break open the game in the third. Ramirez opened the scoring in that frame as well, plating Pate ahead of Eli Sutherland's RBI double.
