CHARLOTTE --- No. 13 North Carolina steps out of conference for one of the top midweek games of the year nationally when the Tar Heels take on No. 2 South Carolina at BB&T Ballpark Wednesday night at 7:05. The game is the first of a two-year series at the home of the Charlotte Knights and pits two old rivals who have not met since 2013. UNC is 23-9 on the year after a series win over Virginia Tech in Chapel Hill last weekend. South Carolina is 28-5 following a three-game sweep of Tennessee in Columbia.
