CHAPEL HILL --- Tyler Ramirez's RBI triple highlighted a five-run first inning and No. 11 North Carolina rolled to an 8-1 win over visiting High Point Tuesday night at Boshamer Stadium. All nine starters reached base for the Tar Heels, who improved to 14-1 in non-conference games with the victory. Ramirez and Tyler Warmoth had two hits apiece and Spencer Trayner picked up his second win thanks to 1.1 scoreless innings of relief.
Carolina (21-7) wasted no time against HPU's Cooper Jeffers, who recorded just one out before departing after allowing three hits and issuing four walks. Ramirez and Warmoth had RBI hits in the first before a pair of bases-loaded walks and a wild pitch combined to make it 5-0.
