No. 1 Women's Tennis Defeats Syracuse, 6-1

SYRACUSE, N.Y -- The top-ranked North Carolina women's tennis team (22-0, 8-0 ACC), picked up its 22nd consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon after it defeated the No. 29 Syracuse Orange 6-1 in Syracuse.

Syracuse was not able to fill out a full lineup and defaulted on No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. The Tar Heels needed just one doubles win to collect the doubles point and needed two singles victories to cement the win over the Orange.

In doubles play, No. 13 Reese Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty won in straight sets (6-0) to clinch the doubles point for North Carolina.
