CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The UNC women's tennis team (27-0, 13-0 ACC) captured a senior day victory over rival No. 3 Duke (22-3, 11-2), 4-1 on Friday afternoon.
The match started at the newly dedicated Chewning Tennis Center before moving inside to the historic Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts halfway through doubles competition.
After dropping doubles court three, the No. 4-ranked duo of Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig dominated court one, winning 6-1. Reese Brantmeier and Reilly Tran, paired together for only the second time, clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on court two to give the Tar Heels a 1-0 lead going into singles play.
