CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Ten different players scored at least once as the No. 1 University of North Carolina women's lacrosse team defeated No. 9 Virginia, 17-12, on Saturday afternoon at Dorrance Field.
Following the win, the Tar Heels remain undefeated at 6-0 and 3-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference action and handed the Cavaliers (6-1, 2-1) their first loss of the season,
The win marked the Tar Heels' 46th-straight regular season victory, now tying Maryland for the longest regular-season streak in women's lacrosse history. The Terrapins first achieved the feat from March 9, 1995 to April 20, 1997.
